Should I paint my car myself? In most cases, the answer to this question is a resounding "No." But there are those of you out there who can handle the job, and a few of you can really rock it.

depends on your knowledge of painting I would say. different types of paint, bodywork, sealers & clears. had a buddy who did all the sanding & priming himself but let a professional actually do the finish sanding & painting. it's an artwork all its own and unless you have a big air compressor with a good drying system I'd probably vote against it.

Welcome Mike, I would agree with fish,I know very little, but thinking, the critical points are air pressure, nozzle diameter and pattern verses application speed, drying time of the paint, dust content in the air, if no paint booth but the one thing i remember the most is make sure there is no silicon spray anywhere near when prepping or painting. brought a friend to tears one day while working on a car over 100 meters away and was spraying silicon lube, it migrated to the booth and fisheyed half of the paint job he was conducting, bad bad day.

Generally, every investment in the car has a positive effect on its life span. In case of larger investments in the gearbox or engine, car owners consider if the expense is worthwhile, or if purchase of a new car is a better option.
